Hello all,

I own a 2003 KLE500 and I'm considering the idea of puttin the GPZ500 camshafts (knockenwellen) instead of the originals.
I found two of these used GPZ camshafts for 40Euro and they seem in good condition. I measured the maximum width - 36mm. Does anyone know the exact difference between the GPZ camshafts and the KLE ones in milimeters? Any ideas or advice?

Hello Deks,

so far I know you have to take the camshafts of GPZ with 60 hp. There is a little difference between GPZ with 50 and 60 hp. But to have the full 60hp you have also to change the carburators. In my KLE500 I inserted a motor from GPZ500 with 60hp but with my original 50hp carburators. The effect is that the motor has got no power betwenn 5000 and 7000 1/min but very good power higher that 7000 1/min.
I do not recommend this in any way and will rebuild it in spring.
